About
A terrameter meter is an advanced geophysical instrument designed to measure the electrical resistivity of various materials, primarily used in subsurface investigations.
It typically consists of a portable control unit, electrodes, and cables to inject electrical current into the ground and measure the resulting voltage differences. This data is then used to calculate the resistivity of the subsurface materials.
Current Injection: The machine sends a controlled electrical current into the ground through the electrodes.
Voltage Measurement: It measures the voltage difference between selected electrodes.
Resistivity Calculation: The machine calculates the apparent resistivity of the ground using the measured voltage, injected current, and electrode spacing.
The resistivity meter’s portability and accuracy make it ideal for field surveys, offering a non-destructive means of probing below the Earth’s surface without the need for drilling or excavation.
Features
